Victorian Inspired Floral Wall Piece with real Butterfly Wings and Cicada Wings
This one of a kind piece is one I made purely from the heart, and something I would love for myself. It’s all hand cut glass backed in black velvet and soldered with decorative beading.
The top tier is 3.25”H and 4.25” across and hosts (found) cicada wings with thistle and Queen Anne’s Lace as its abdomen, and bits of Orbexilum on its wings. The flower at the top is an opened Turk’s Cap.
The large middle piece is 6.75”H and 10.5” across. It has real (found) Hackberry butterfly wings with a leaf from Lemon Balm as its abdomen. It’s surrounded by a wide variety of pressed flowers I pressed myself and carefully placed - cosmos, fall asters, blue mist, wild grasses, pansies, goldenrod, Texas Star, and so much more.
The bottom tier is 4.25”H and 3.5” across and again hosts a pair of real (found) cicada wings with Queen Anne’s Lace as a false head, bits of grasses and Orbexilum, and an open Turk’s Cap bloom at the bottom.
It is all connected with a sturdy stainless steel chain.
***Please do not submerge in water to clean. Wipe with a damp cloth.
***All flowers fade in time. To slow this process, keep out of direct sunlight.
***Must be hung with a nail or screw due to weight.
