Texas Wildflowers with Butterflies on Black Velvet
This colorful piece reminds me of every Texas summer and fall, with bright yellows from the Black Eyed Susans, then the Goldenrod….wild grasses and onions, and fall asters and Blue Mist. Above them fly two pairs of found butterfly wings. One is an Emperor butterfly and the other is a little Pearl Crescent. The backing is black velvet, and the soldered edges are carefully beaded and polished to a shine. It hangs from a sturdy stainless steel chain.
This piece, excluding the chain, is 8.5”H and 6.25”W.
